Professor Gail S. Goodman holds an distinguished chair in psychology at the University of California Davis and is the Director of its Center for Public Policy Research. Her name has been recognized for pioneering the study of witness testimony by children and the eyewitness memory within legal contexts. Professor Goodman published widely and has won several grants and was awarded many national and international awards. She has provided advice on policy and research for numerous government agencies and departments from all over the world. She acts as a consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center) of the Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She's a member of numerous professional organizations which include the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. Professor. Goodman is a fellow of the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children and also the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was the president of three divisions (Division Society for Policy on Child and Family and Practice Division American Psychology-Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology) and one section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
