Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shakar, one of the American and British sitarist. She was the first and youngest woman to win the British House of Commons Award. Anoushka Shakar is a promising young emerging singer on Indian Sitar is Anoushka. She is both the daughter and pupil of Ravi Shankar. Born in London in 1982. She was a young girl who travelled back and forth to London as well as New Delhi. The first time she performed was on stage in New Delhi when she was just 13 years old. In Encinitas the state of California, in 1999 she earned an honorary high school diploma. Anouskha is still a young woman, nevertheless, she has an amazing career in singing and recording. She regularly performs alongside her father and has done so for a long time years. She released her debut album in 1998. debuted Anourag as her first solo record. The album was released in 2002. her Grammy nominated album Live at Carnegie Hall. Her stage career is very broad as she's performed in most of the major stages in the world. Anoushka isn't just a musician. Bapi: The love of My Live is her 2002 memoir, that was a tribute to Ravi Shankar. Also, she appeared in the film "Dance Like a Man" in 2003. She played a Bharat Nayam dancer on Dance Like a Man. Anoushka Shankar's professional career is continuing to develop and we can expect to see a lot from her in years to come. Anoushka Shankar is a British native who lived her early days between London, Delhi and California. Anoushka started her music studies at the age of nine. After four years, she made her music debut with the sitar Delhi at her father's 75th birthday celebration. Accompanying her father as his world tour, Anoushka had a wealth of performances on stage at Carnegie Hall while still in her teens, performing in Peter Gabriel's WOMAD festival, and also performing alongside George Harrison. Her talent and musicality have been recognized by British parliament as the best at Asian Arts.
